    Best Guess Web Version

On Monday we had so much breaking news we just didn't have time to get to our Best Guess segment.  So, for those of you guessing along at home, here you go.  Let me know if you agree or disagree!

    CC

STUART VARNEY: Right at 1 pm, the Treasury announces the results of its attempt to borrow $19 Billion. The interest it has to pay, is the key number for stock watchers. A big move up would be bad news....It would indicate a borrowing problem and an inflation problem down the road....

CHERYL CASONE: We are beginning to get a sense of what healthcare reform is going to look like. My guess is that once insurance companies agree to work with the government, the administration will begin to put rules in place for those companies like executive pay and coverage options. The next big debate will be the "nationalization" of health care companies. The government wants to own it all.....

GREGG JARRETT: A universal healthcare bill, as envisioned by President Obama, will fail to pass this year. Too costly, too controversial, too much opposition, and no consensus.

ROB MORGAN: The dollar will continue to weaken.  Here is why and also investment implications:

-why - during the financial crisis last fall global capital piled into the safe haven of the US dollar and strengthened the dollar, and now as risk appetites increase it is gradually trickling out, weakening the dollar.

    -implications and what sectors benefit-
    a. US large cap stocks
    b. International investments held by US investors
    c.  Commodities

TOM SULLIVAN: Mortgage applications are down and interest rates are up. The Fed’s efforts haven’t worked but it is going to spend more than $300 billion to keep trying to make something happen.
