    Best Guess: Clunkers Edition

TOM SULLIVAN: The cash for clunkers program will run out of money within two weeks. It is the only stimulus plan that has stimulated sales but $1 billion will go fast.

SANDRA SMITH: CFTC hearings continue today… my best guess is that IF the CFTC decided to implement trading restrictions:  Limits on commodities trading could backfire on traditional hedgers

STUART VARNEY: There will be some kind of health care reform by year’s end. But nobody will be happy. Obama will fall way short of his wish list. Liberals will not pull off socialized medicine. Conservatives will see higher taxes. The deficit will not be cut. A total, useless mess. Another asted opportunity.

TYLER VERNON: Technology will continue to be the sector which leads the market throughout the remainder of the year.

CHERYL CASONE: Goldman Sachs and Chairman Lloyd Blankfein will be dragged in front of a House and/or Senate committee to answer “why are you making so much money on taxpayer’s dime” and Blankfein will answer “because you forced me to take the money.” Goldman Sachs will continue earnings and revenue growth in the next few quarters, and the banking system overall will benefit.

Cash for Clunkers , What a joke! how about cash for Americans. There is a reason people are driving these so called clunkers. Now driving Cadillacs and Lexus this is the same stupid plan and incentives that caused the realestate market to collapse incentives to people who cant afford to purchasde these assets to begin with. The ony stimulas to this program is going to be the repo guy towing your new car away.Joe clunker is going to wish he still had his original means of transportation

I believe the cost of the Cash for Clunkers program was underestimated because the government members are out of touch with reality. They couldn't imagine how many people might still be driving "clunkers" because they seldom step out of their "rich" lives. I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix with 147K miles on it. It gets 17 mpg and needs a new muffler. Now that's reality.
