Brian Sullivan was in for Stuart today, and he decided to give us a tough time about our music choices on the 12pm show. Can I just say here folks, Jill Woerner, our line producer, is GREAT at picking the music we use for our bumps into commercial breaks. She takes a lot of time and she picks stuff I love. I defended her honor on the show...take that Brian:)
CC
TOM SULLIVAN: There will be more shouting and yelling at future joint sessions of Congress. It will become more like parliament.
BRIAN SULLIVAN: A health insurance compromise will include being able to buy insurance across state lines
LIZ MACDONALD: There is bound to be an extension and perhaps an increase in the first time home buyers’ tax credit. First time home buyers can currently get an $8000 tax credit for buying a primary home. This credit lasts through November 30, with all transactions needing to be closed by that date to qualify. There are a number of proposals from Republican and Democrat legislators to extend and even expand the tax credit, with some proposals for a 6 to 12 month extension.
JIM AWAD: strong bounce in economy in third quatet gets investors euphoric setting things up for disappointment in 2010 as we settle back to the new normal.
CHERYL CASONE: Apple stock is close to 180 and wont be able to break that ceiling. The stock loses 10 dollars plus a share this month.
Hi Cheryl,
I think your comments on canada HC are not accurate. There are numerous reasons why healthcare in canada is substandard and very costly. There is nothing we can learn from Canada. The system is a total failure.
For example in Canada, province of Saskatchewan, there is 1 doctor for every 550 people. In california we have 1 doctor for ever 300 people. 1800 doctors 250 are from South Africa. (McCleans story)
Canada's total federal budget for 2009 is $280 billion and cost of health care is $180 billion. Our President is lying about the costs of a public system. It will cost 1 trillion per year for the same system.
You just cannot go see a specialist, you have your doctor request an
appointment. Which truly does take months to get. My dad is having haert issue with low pulse and he has been to the ER 2 times, Cardiologist a few times and we are talking lost files, long waits and he still not been takin care off because there is not enough doctors.
It is managed care +++++. If you tell the doctor you will pay cash for service they say they cannot do it. Any doctor worth his wage has left Canada and come to the US. Canada is now importing doctors from Africa to fill the void. There are many personal stories like this, if the Canada system was so good the old health minister would not have come to the US for service, and in Italy the President would not have come to Ohio for his healthcare. We do not want a Canada style system it is a costly failure
