    Best Guess: Jailbird Edition

Much of the show today was focused on the stunning insider trading charges surrounding Raj Rajaratnam and Galleon Group.  What was believed to be $20 million in profits is now $40 million.  It is actually easy for me to believe that this took place, but of course the courts will have to decide if the charges are true.  What I said today on the show is that rumors are rampant all the time on trading desks, and most of the time it ends up to be false information.  The difficult thing to prove legally is the malicious part of the actions, and proof that fraud took place.  I am not an attorney, but insider trading is very difficult to prove. It is my belief more charges will come, more persons will be named, and someone will be going to jail.  Now to Best Guess...

STUART VARNEY: Investors love the fed because rates will remain low for some time.  Free and easy money for all!

TOM SULLIVAN: Ford will get aggressive and demand the government stop subsidizing its competition. It will be a great marketing ploy as well as a financially smart move.

LIZ MACDONALD: The us taxpayer may need to bail out the FHA, which insures Ginnie Mae’s mtges

MATT MCCALL: Longer duration US Treasurys will have negative total returns over the next 12 months.

CHERYL CASONE: There will be more charges in the Rajaratnam case.
